Falling Walls

Falling Walls focuses on turning high level conversations about science into experiences. They do this through in-person conferences in visual and experiential ways.

Problem

It was especially important for Falling Walls to create spaces where event attendees could strike up informal conversations and get to know other interesting people. For Falling Walls, it was clear – they don’t do boring events; they do exceptional events. And that's where Sophya came in. Sophya allows Falling Walls to create an interactive and inclusive experience - a space that added to their experiential content, instead of detracting from it.

Solution

In Sophya, their attendees were able to walk around, meet new people, and feel like they're part of a learning experience. They found that attendees loved exploring the spaces and often stayed on in Sophya even after the scheduled end time for the event - they lingered and chatted. Now, that's unheard of in the virtual world. Falling Walls continues to use Sophya for their conferences and events, creating unforgettable, active experiences for their community.

There’s a visual appeal that Sophya brings to the table that others don’t. There’s an ease of use. We want to have a visual environment where people can feel they’re in a room.

Network building is our purpose at Falling Walls and Sophya works really well for the purpose of mingling in an established community.

Perry & Alznauer

Perry & Alznauer is an immigration law firm that knows that success comes when you put people first. They care deeply about the team and their wellness. But despite efforts to keep the team together, P&A struggled with team culture during the pandemic.

Problem

Before the pandemic hit, P&A team member would always be vibing together - team lunches, wine tastings, dinner outings. They had a tight-knit community and they weren't quite ready to let it go. Existing tools simply weren't sufficient to build a healthy, social team culture.

Solution

One of the team members at P&A discovered Sophya through a friend, and thought it was an interactive and fun place where they could spend time together and connect as a team. They started using Sophya for their e-lunches found it more relaxed, more personal, less robotic, more fun, and more interactive. This was so much more fun that everything else they tried. In Sophya, all team members are actively involved in the experience. No more dead air as people just stare at each other on a screen.

You have to use so many senses, visual to see, auditory to hear, touch to navigate in here. It’s hard to be passive in Sophya.

We use Sophya for our sanity, for our mental health.

Ciencia Joven

Ciencia Joven is an organization that aims to transform STEM education and nurture youth leaders in Latin American nations including Chile, Paraguay, Argentina and Uruguay. They focus on creating engaging and immersive experiences for their students during their week-long courses.

Problem

Realizing that existing virtual platforms were creating passive learning environments that failed to contribute to the growth and development of their students, Ciencia Joven decided to try out Sophya.

Solution

Ciencia Joven now use Sophya to conduct classes for their students. Following the classes, they allow students to use the virtual space to hang out, chat and collaborate. They have found that students tend to spend time getting to know each other in Sophya, allowing them to build a community. This is especially important for Ciencia Joven since their students come from schools across different cities and countries.

It’s much more interesting for our students to work in Sophya, than anywhere else.

Students are able to freely move around and talk to each other in Sophy and they are able to break into groups organically to collaborate. This allows them to learn about each other and build lasting relationships.
